Congratulations to Kevin Dahl and Steve Stack!

Congratulations to Kevin Dahl and Steve Stack of Muskego, WI for winning the 2010 Spring Valley tournament. They finished with a two day total of 25.55 lbs. They weighed 15.2 lbs. on the first day to put them in lead and they held on to that lead by bringing in 10.35 lbs on the second day for their first victory.


In addition to their first place winnings, Dahl and Stack were the beneficiaries of additional sponsor contingency bonuses totaling $2,700, including $1000 in Cabela's giftcards. The Cabela's Angler Cash $500 gift card bonus, Ranger Cup $1,000 bonus along with the $500 Lowrance HDS bonus, $200 Oxygenator-U2 bonus and $500 Cabela's giftcard for being a the first top finishing Central Division Berkley Premier Team, giving the duo a total of $20,500.

Day 1 is in the books and over 956 pounds of fish were caught with 554 fish brought in – a 1.7 pound average. Kevin Dahl & Steve Stack of Muskego, WI have a 1.83 pound lead with 15.2 pounds for five fish. Here are the first 5 places after day one:

Biggest fish of the day honors go to locals Ryan Vecchia & Bill Elliott of Spring Valley, IL with 4.25 pound walleye worth $1300. Second place was 3.76 pounds for Scott Allen of Green Bay, WI & Dennis Butz Suamico, WI for $780 and third place was Marc & Doug Hoster at 3.48 pounds for $550.

Cabela's MWC heads to Spring Valley, IL this Weekend!
Walleye anglers across the upper Midwest are gearing up for the first professional walleye tournament of the 2010 season – the Cabela’s Masters Walleye Circuit slated for March 27th and 28th. This year marks the 24th consecutive year the Cabela’s MWC has held the circuit opener on the sauger capital of the world, the Illinois River. The weigh-in will be held at Barto Landing in the downstate Illinois town of Spring Valley. Currently 128 teams have signed up to compete making a total purse of $66,600 paying 24 places with first place at $17,800. Sponsor contingency bonuses could add another $3,700 and big fish will most likely bring in an estimated $4,500 for a total purse nearing $75,000. This tournament is presented by Mercury Motors.

The tournament costs $650, but the $100 late fee starts March 8th at 12pm.
